![]() Ohio Wesleyan University has received National Science Foundation funding to serve as a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) site to be integrated with a Research Experience for Teachers (RET) component for the summers of 2007-2009. Each participant will work on a research project under the guidance of an experienced Ohio Wesleyan University faculty member in either the Department of Physics and Astronomy or the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in one of the following disciplines: astronomy, computer science, mathematics/statistics, and physics. REU projects are for a duration of ten weeks; RET projects are from six to ten weeks. All projects will focus on one or more aspects of scientific computation: numerical, symbolic, and data visualization. Project participants will represent a wide range of interests and experiences: 4–5 undergraduate students from across the U.S. and 1–2 high school science teachers from Central Ohio who demonstrate the potential to share the excitement of scientific research with their own students. Click the links on the navigation bar or below to read the project descriptions, meet the faculty and staff, and meet the Summer 2008 participants. You can also meet the Summer 2007 participants and view photos, posters and videos of talks from the 2007 Ohio Five Summer Research Symposium.
